International Affairs Analyst
INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS ANALYST
A reputable Embassy in Asunción is looking for an International Affairs Analyst for working regular office hours at its headquarters. The role requires tracking international and domestic political and economic trends, conducting research, and preparing timely analyses to aid diplomats in informed decision-making. The Analyst will also support the Embassy?s political, economic, and public diplomacy goals by monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on media developments. Additionally, the position might involve managing media relations, drafting press materials, and supporting public outreach.
This dynamic role demands flexibility, initiative, and the ability to stay updated on evolving political and economic landscapes. The successful candidate will ensure the Embassy?s media presence is well-managed, providing diplomats with timely insights for bilateral relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Political and Economic Research & Analysis:
Monitor domestic and international media for political, economic, and social developments.
Conduct research on government policies, economic trends, elections, and diplomatic relations.
Prepare briefs summarizing key developments.
Assist in drafting speeches, talking points, and briefings.
Support staff in identifying risks and collaboration opportunities in political, trade, and investment sectors.
- Media Monitoring and Press Duties:
Monitor news, social media, and public statements regarding the Embassy and bilateral relations.
Maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets.
Draft press releases and public communications.
Organize Embassy press events and support media outreach, including identifying coverage opportunities.
-Public Diplomacy and Outreach:
Provide media support for cultural and economic outreach initiatives.
Collaborate with public affairs to promote Embassy events on social media and other platforms.
Contribute to media strategies to enhance Embassy visibility.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor?s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Journalism, or Economics (Master?s preferred).
- Proven experience in media monitoring, political/economic analysis, or public affairs.
- Strong understanding of political and economic trends.
- Excellent writing and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with media landscapes, social media, and press networks.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); other languages are an asset.
